Qom Rugs
Qum is a part of the ten major towns in Persia and it’s located about one hour and 40 minutes drive south from Tehran. To the majority of people in Iran, Qum is their country’s capital. At one point Qum was known for trading Saffron but its most prominent and traditional product has always been its handmade rugs and carpets.
Most of the rugs from Qom are not big in size but are made with a dense weave and compiled with the finest wools and silk fibers. Qum rugs are known for having variations of the mythological motif known as the “Tree of Life”, as well as the traditional Persian medallions and animals.
